Confusing Places

Whenever I am about to go on a trip especially when I go back home to my parents house, I often wake up in the middle of the night and am very confused as to where I am. This week was no exception. I'll be moving back to DC come next week and so I've been slowly dismantling my room here at school and packing up. Last week I decided to take everything down off the walls. This led to one of the biggest and most disappointing confusions ever. I woke up maybe around 3 or 4 in the morning and without sitting up I started to look around. When I didn't see anything on the walls I thought I might be at my parents house then decided that that wasn't right. My next thought was that I was at the beach and I got so excited. Anytime I am at the beach I am excited and since I was in the middle of studying for finals and writing papers, the beach would have been a wonderful place to be. To my dismay however, when I sat up and took a second look around, I realized I was in my very own bed, still at school and that I still had all my finals to take and a whole house to pack up and clean. It was so very unfortunate. I could feel my heart sink and the joy and elation drain from my body. That disappointment however did not last long and reality set and I knew that I didn't even have time to be disappointed.

I went today to get my blood taken. This for a lot of people is a pretty routine thing...no big deal, that is unless you are me. I LOATHE getting my blood taken more than just about anything. Just to get it straight, I can watch anyone else get their blood taken and I don't mind shots but when it comes to getting my own blood taken, I am slightly...ok overly pathetic.
When I was getting ready to go to college, the school wanted you to have a physical with blood work before coming. I went and got my physical and they told me that I would have to go to this clinic to get my blood taken. I absolutely refused to go. My mom made me an appointment and I would not go. To try to reason with me, my mom said to me well what if you have some rare disease and they can only find by taking your blood. Being overly dramatic I responded that I would rather die. (This isn't true at all but it just scares me to death whenever I get it done).
Last night and this morning I was texting Katherine and asking if I could skip it, or if I threw up before if I had to go. I tried so hard to get out of going to the doctor that Katherine called me at the time I was supposed to be leaving to make sure that I was actually going.
Stephen drove me to the appointment because in the past I have been known to pass out or get really faint when getting my blood taken but this time we were prepared. He brought me a Gingerale and a Snickers to make sure I was not going to have any passing out issues. On the way over her mentioned to me at least you're not crying. Just then I burst out into tears. When we got out of the car, I tried to get back in and when the nurse took my heart rate it was astronomically high. I usually have a heart rate of about 62ish and when she took it today, it was 97! It felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. It finally came time for them to take my blood and so she asked if I wanted to sit or lie, I chose to lie down and as soon as I laid down on the exam table I shut and covered my eyes and didn't open them until the nurse was out of the room.
In all actuality, I did pretty well. I was proud of myself but I really hope that I don't have to do that again any time soon. Just thinking about it now is making me anxious! I've decided that I probably should take the rest of the day off to recover.
