I'm in an abnormal psychology class and as a class requirement I have to volunteer at the Utah State Mental Hospital. At first I was really apprehensive and uncomfortable with the assignment but after the first day all the nervousness and apprehension went away. I volunteer in the library and help patients pick out books, movies, music. I have a favorite patient in particular and she actually gets to work in the library with me. Whenever I go she makes me laugh and smile and we get to talk about a lot of different kinds of things. She really does make my day and I will be sad when my hours are done and I don't get to see her anymore.

OMG! I bet I know her. I loved working there, it was so fun!!!!! Once you get past the "mental hospital" stigma, it's actually a very fun place to work at. Abnormal psychology was literally one of my favorite classes at BYU.
